Dear Intermediate Parents/Guardian,
Highbush Public School is a place where students are engaged in academics, athletics, the arts and other
pursuits beyond the school program. Leadership Development is an important part of what we do at Highbush.
We rely on our Student Leaders to assist with numerous clubs and activities including our first day opening
assembly.
We believe that our Intermediate students have a great deal of leadership potential and it is with this in mind
that we would like to offer our 5th annual Leadership Camp for Intermediate students at Highbush P.S.
Camp Dates:
Monday August 25thth (9 a.m. – 1:15pm – lunch provided) & Tuesday August 26th
from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Leadership Camp T-shirts:
Cost for the T-shirts are $12.00. If you would like one, please send
in $12 with your child to camp.
The Theme of the Camp is “Year of the Ally.” At Camp students will work on their leadership, teamwork, and
equity/inclusion skills. They will also be placed in a leadership group for the coming year where they will create
and take on many different initiatives.
Students need to commit to being an active member of their designated group to the best of their ability.
This invitation is extended to all students who will be in Grade 7 or 8 for the upcoming school year.
If your child is willing to commit to being a leader at Highbush P.S. please fill out the accompanying permission
form and return to the office no later than June 27th, 2014.
