BROWN Graduate School Deans’ Faculty Fellowship Student Application To be submitted to the Graduate School by email (graduate_dean@brown.edu) by 5:00pm on the last Friday in January. The Deans’ Faculty Fellows program is a pilot collaboration between the Dean of the Graduate School and the Dean of the Faculty for 6th-year PhD students (not including students in the Division of Biology and Medicine). Up to 10 students who have achieved a record of excellence in teaching and scholarship will be named Deans’ Faculty Fellows (DFFs). To be eligible, rising 6th-year graduate students must be nominated by their programs and commit to completing, defending, and submitting their dissertation by January 15 of the next calendar year. DFFs will be offered full fellowship support without any teaching responsibilities during the Fall semester. In the Spring semester, they will be appointed as Visiting Assistant Professors with assignments to teach or co-teach a course in their areas of expertise. Students in the Humanities and Social Sciences who are applying for 6th-year funding are also required to submit a Dissertation Completion Proposal.
