Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the IOBC/WPRS Working Groups “Integrated Protection of Fruit Crops”,
Subgroups "Soft fruits", "Pome fruit arthropods", "IFP Guidelines", "Pome fruit diseases" and
"Stone fruits" we like to inform you that registration and accommodation details for the 9th
International Conference on Integrated Fruit Production is now available in the current 2nd
announcement as well as on the conference website: http://iobc-greece2016.com/
Equally you may already know, the conference takes place every 4 years and aims to bring
together the latest progresses in research of all subgroups involved in Integrated Fruit
Production.
We cordially invite you to come to Thessaloniki to present your research work, exchange
thoughts, start to develop collaborations, and contribute to the further evolution of research
on whole aspects of Integrated Fruit Production and Pest Management.

Instructions for the Abstract Submission
Deadline for Abstract Submission: June 15th
The abstracts will be published by copying of the original text, without any correction. Please
download the IOBC abstract from and paper template (http://iobc-greece2016.com/), or, follow the
below instructions:
1. Paper-format: A-4
2. Left and right margins of the text: 2.5 cm
Upper margin: 3.0 cm
Lower margin: 2.5 cm
This results in a printing area of 16 cm x 23.7 cm
3. Line spacing: 1
4. Font: "Times New Roman" or "Times"
5. All titles and subtitles should be flush left. Fonts as printed in the example.
6. Font of the abstract: 11 pt
7. Font of the running text: 12 pt (except titles and abstract)
8. No hyphenation in the text.
9. Justification of the text.
10. Make sure that the first lines of all paragraphs (except for the paragraph that follows
a title) are indented with a [Tab] command (0.8 cm). Do not use spaces instead of
tabs and indents. Do not repeatedly use Standard-Tabstops.
11. Scientific names of plants and animals in Italics.
12. The authors’ names should be typed in the normal font (not in capitals or any other
face, not bold) in the text as well as in the "References".
13. Layout as shown in the example.
14. Do not number the pages; the page numbering is done when the Bulletins are being
Compiled.
Additional details
 After the abstract submission, no corrections are accepted.
 Abstracts not completed, per above instructions, will not be accepted.

 The Conference Secretariat will acknowledge receipt of the abstracts.
 Abstracts will be accepted under the condition that one, at least, author will be registered. In case
of non-acceptance and if the author does not wish to participate to the Conference, the registration
fees will be refunded.
 Please indicate your preference on the type of presentation. The Scientific Committee has the right
of the final decision on the forms of presentation.
 The Scientific Committee’s decision about acceptance of the abstracts, will be announced to the
authors at the earliest three weeks after their submission. If you have not received an answer until
the above date, please contact the Conference Secretariat, tel. (+30 2310) 247734.

TRAVEL
By Air
Macedonia airport is 16 km outside the city and served by many major airlines. The airport is served
by the 24-hour bus line 78 (or 78N during night) from OASTH. Line 78 starts from Macedonia Central
Bus Station, stops at the Railway Station of Thessaloniki and arrives to the airport through the city
center.
Line 78A travels the same route with the difference, that it makes an additional stop at the A.S. IKEA
bus station. At the Railway Station and A.S. IKEA bus stops, passengers can find many connections with
many other major bus lines.
Ticket price: 0.90€
Trip duration: 50 min.
There is a taxi stop at the airport. The price of taxi transportation from the airport to the city center
is approximately 20€.

By Coach
KTEL is a long-distance bus network in Greece connecting Thessaloniki with all cities of the mainland.
Macedonia central bus station (or simply KTEL station) is located 5km west of Thessaloniki city centre
and it is easily accessible through OASTH bus lines. KTEL station has regular bus service to all the major
cities in Greece. Please note that Chalkidiki’s KTEL Bus Terminal is located in the eastern part of the
city.
EXCURSION
A one-day excursion is planned for Thursday, 8th September 2016 after the official program.
Costs will be paid extra and will not be included in the registration fee. In brief, the tour will include
visit fruit valley of Imathia, Vergina royal tombs of King Phillip 2, father of Alexander the great, stop
for traditional lunch and later visit to the archaeological park of Dion at the mount Olympus site.
