South Hills High School Hall of Fame Nomination Form Objective: To identify and honor those who have distinguished themselves through their lifetime achievements and who have contributed to the pride and prestige of the former South Hills High School. Criteria: Nominee must be a graduate of SHHS who made a significant achievement at the collegiate and/or professional level. The nominee should have excelled in one or more of the following: Academics, Athletics, The Arts, Business, Health/Medical/Science, Humanities, Military Service, Public Service Nominations will be accepted through October 1 of every year. Awards will be presented the last Saturday of April of the following year at the annual SHHSAA dinner/dance. Recipient must be able to personally accept the award on that date. King Citizen Award 1952 – Business – Stephen H. Vonderach, Vice President of Finance & CFO Quality Semiconductor Inc, IXMICRO Inc., positioned several companies for high growth and profit for Initial Public Offerings. 1958 – Athletics – Harold J. “Lefty” Martin, highest level of youth track and field coaches in the country, serves on USATF International Competition Committee, served as referee for the ACC, Big 10, Atlantic Sun, SEC, MEAC, SWAC, Conference USA, Big South, USA Jr. Olympics, USA Jr Women’s Championships. 1962 – Military – Ronald W. Drach, Founding member and past President Wounded Warrior Project Board of Directors, one of nation’s foremost authorities and from 1975 to 2010 involved in all major legislation on employment issues affecting veterans and others whose lives have been affected by disabilities. 1962 – Public Service – Thomas H. Lewis, national expert on community and urban revitalization and education administration, both public and private, focused on comprehensive approaches to the physical, social and economic problems of revitalizing and maintaining urban areas. 1969 – Humanities – Sandra Preuhs, Assistant District Attorney Allegheny County, practicing criminal appellate law for the prosecution in the Pennsylvania Superior and Supreme Courts.
