Project Variation Request Form

This form should be completed in full by any successful applicant receiving funding from the Waikato River Authority (WRA)
who wishes to vary aspects of their project, project plan or Deed of Funding once the Deed of Funding has been signed.

The form should be completed and any variation approved in writing by the WRA prior to the applicant making changes to
their project. Failure to do so could result in further funding for the project not being available, either in part or in full.

The applicant should make contact with the WRA directly to discuss the significance of the proposed variation. This may
occur at any time in this process. The WRA will contact the applicant when a request to vary a project is received.

If a variation is approved, revisions may be required to be documented in either or both of the project plan and Deed of
Funding.

Variations will not be approved where they relate to:




An increase in WRA funding above that originally approved by the Trust;
A reduction in delivery that is not complimented by an appropriate reduction in WRA funding; and
A change to the project to undertake activities that were not covered by the initial funding application, project plan
and/or Deed of Funding.
Variations will be considered where they relate to:


Necessary extensions to milestones, deliverables, timeframes, cash-flows or other similar aspects of the project;
Changes to the manner in which a project is carried out where the deliverables are not compromised, especially if
this delivers greater value to the protection and restoration of the health and well-being of the River.

Please note that decreases in co-funding or in-kind contributions provided as part of the application, Project Plan and/or
Deed of Funding, or in the way those funds are distributed within the project, should be communicated to the WRA. These
may require a Project Variation Form to be completed depending on the circumstance.




