PRESENT STATUS
The Surgery residency program of Ospital ng Maynila had already
produced 75 graduates, about a third of who are fellows of the Philippine College
of Surgeons & diplomates of the Philippine Board of Surgery. Most of them also
are currently in private practice. Some of them had come back to the hospital to
serve as consultants, while others have gone to subspecialty training.

General Information and 2006 Schedule
General Schedule and Place of Conferences
1. Conferences are held every Tuesday and Thursday, 8-10 am.
2. The number of conferences every Tuesday and Thursday may range from 1
to 2.
2.1 If there will be one conference, the time is 8-10 am.
2.2 If there will be three conferences, first conference is at 8-9 am, the second, at
9-10 am and the third, at 10-11 am.
3. Unless otherwise specified, the conferences will be held at the Department of
Surgery Conference Room on the 3rd floor.
Objectives of Conferences
1. Training cum evaluation of resident and consultant staff of the Department of
Surgery
2. Joint conferences with other departments such as Departments of
Anesthesia, Pathology, Radiology, Pediatrics, and Internal Medicine
3. Research forum
4. Business meetings
5. Performance reports and audits
6. Clinical practice guidelines development
