“ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISKS & INDEMNITY AGREEMENT”
This must be signed for an Acceptance of your Entry
A) I have understood the risk and responsibility of participating in the “LADAKH MARATHON”, hereinafter referred to
as “Event” and will be participating entirely at my/his/her own risk and responsibility
B) I have given true and complete information in this application form and me/my ward/ am is solely responsible for
the accuracy of this information.
C) I am aware that any Event, whether in civilized or remote areas contains some inherent risks of illness, injury or
death. The same may be a result of negligence of others, myself, forces of nature or other agencies known or
unknown. I recognize that such risks may be present at any time before, during and after the Event that I am
participating in under the arrangements of Ladakh Marathon, being organized by Rimo Expeditions, its agents or
associates. I am also aware that medical services may not be readily available or accessible during some or all the
time while I am participating in the Event.
D) I understand that I/my ward must have an appropriate fitness level to participate in such a physically challenging
Event
E) I/my ward understand and agree to the Event terms and guidelines
Release: In consideration for the right to participate in the Event, which is organized by Rimo Expeditions, I agree to the
terms of this Acknowledgement of Risks, Release of Liability & Indemnity Agreement. I have and do hereby fully assume all
risk of illness, injury or death. ( I understand that the Event includes certain inheritant and other risks including, but not
limited to , high altitude sickness, falling or slipping, landslides, rock fall, vehicular traffic or any other natural calamity
that may occur during the Event etc) whether they are known or unknown. These risks cannot be eliminated and I willingly
assume these risks. I understand that these risks may result in bodily injury (including paralysis), death or damage to
property. I also understand and that I will not hold Ladakh Marathon Committee persons, Officials and volunteers, Rimo
Expeditions and all other associates, agents or employees liable of negligence in the event of any accident that may occur
due to the negligence of me or any other participant on account of not following instructions or due to such acts done
which are outside the Event for which I am participating.
Furthermore I hereby release and discharge Ladakh Marathon, Committee persons, Officials and volunteers, Rimo
Expeditions and all other associates, agents or employees from all actions, claim or demands from damages resulting out of
my participation in the Event. I agree that the foregoing obligation shall be binding upon me personally as well as upon my
heirs, executors, administrators and all member of my family (including any minor accompanying me).
Authorization and Agreement: I hereby authorize any medical treatment deemed necessary in the event of any injury
while participating in this Event. I agree to pay all costs of rescue and /or medical services as may be incurred on my/our
behalf.
Express Assumption of Risk and Responsibility: I recognize that as the organizer of the Event Rimo Expeditions will operate
under a covenant of good faith and fair dealing, but that may find it necessary to terminate same due to forces of nature,
medical necessities or other problems. I accept their right to take such action for not only my safety but also safety of all
participants. I have carefully read this contract and fully understand its contents. I am aware that this is an
acknowledgement of risks and liability agreement between Rimo Expeditions and me.

ENTRY RULES AND GUIDELINES

Please do not send in more than one entry per person. Multiple applications will be rejected.

Before sending in your application, please ensure that following information has been provided with else your
application will not be accepted.

Filled in details against all mandatory fields in the application form
o
Attach a copy of your latest passport size photograph on the form
o
Attach a copy of your Photo ID proof, i.e. for foreign nationals – Passport and for Indians either
Passport, Driving license, Election Card, Pan Card etc
o
Provide details of previous marathons – place and year
o
Enclose the requisite application fees (refer to 'Application Fees' chart);
o
Sign the “Risk and Indemnity Agreement”
o
If applicant is below the age of 18 years, the guardian has also signed the 'waiver' and written his/her
relation with the applicant,
o
Applicant meets the minimum age eligibility criteria for the chosen race category
o
Last date for registration is 7th August 2013

Entries not accepted: Participation in the event is subject to entry confirmation. If your entry is not confirmed
for any reason, the application fees paid by you will be refunded on or before 15th August 2013. An amount of `
Rs 50 will be deducted as processing charges. Any refund discrepancies must be brought to the attention of the
Event Registration Team immediately. Refund queries will not be entertained post 15th August 2013.

Requests for cancellation, and thereby refund, will not be entertained

BIB number and collection of bibs:








Your official race BIB number is important. Therefore please ensure that it is displayed during the
entire race.
Do not alter the Bib number in any manner
Bib numbers are not transferable
No one else may wear your bib number
The bib number must be pinned properly to the front of your t-shirt and clearly visible
Folding or covering any part of your bib number may result in disqualification
Do not forcefully bend, crease or fold your bib
Timing Chips
 Ladakh Marathon will use a timing chip and you must attach it to your shoe to score the race as per
instructions provided
 This timing chip must be worn on the race day, attached properly to the shoe

The chip must be attached from Start to Finish in order to be recognized as completing the race
and receiving an official finish time
The timing chip identifies your bib number and should not be worn by any other entrant


All confirmed participants are required to come to Leh to collect their running number bibs (and timing
chips). Bibs will be handed over from 1st September 2013 onwards. No running number bib or timing chip will be
posted to individual mailing addresses.

It is mandatory for participants of the categories 42 KM Marathon and Khardung La Challenge to collect their
running number bibs and timing chips in person.

Race day images of all the races of the participants will be screened visually after the race. Where any of the
participants is found not wearing the running bib allotted to him/her, the participant registered for that bib will
be disqualified from the race and the subsequent edition of this event.

The application form and the right to participate in the event and the rights and benefits available to the
applicant under this application form is at the sole discretion of the event Promoters, RIMO EXPEDITIONS, and
cannot be transferred to any other person under any circumstances. The actual applicant alone shall be entitled
to the rights and benefits arising out of such confirmation of participation.
