Zimmerm a n To provide cost effective recycling program the Erie County Solid Waste Management District approved a Solid Waste Plan with Ohio Environmental Protection Agency to discontinue drop-off recycling programs and implement curbside recycling in densely populated areas. The targeted locations outlined: 2009 City of Sandusky - all three locations in the City 2011 Perkins Township 2010 Margaretta Township 2010 Vermilion Township 2012 Huron Township- Osborn MetroPark For this reason, the Township is partnering with the City of Huron to offer curbside garbage and recycling pick-up to residents in Huron Township on a voluntary basis. You should be receiving a letter in the near future from the City explaining the service and the associated costs. If you decide that you would rather stay with your current provider, please contact them and ask if they offer recycling as part of their package.
