Imagine 2020 Program Selection Menu Laura Bradley College and Career Readiness Coordinator LABradley@dallasisd.org (972)-925-8915 The goal of the College and Career Readiness Coordinator is to provide aligned and strategic support to all I2020 campuses through: College Spotlight: In an effort to introduce our students to various types of colleges, a different college will be spotlighted each month for the campus to use in campus-based college readiness activities and discussions Every month a different college will be spotlighted, and all campuses will receive a Monthly College Spotlight Newsletter which will give fun facts about the chosen college/university We encourage you to share this information with your students and use this as an opportunity to build a college-going culture at your campus College Café Corner: As part of the College Spotlight Program, each campus has the opportunity to host a College Café Corner during their lunch period for selected grade levels. College specific (aligned to the College Spotlight) and general college information will be provided High School: 1 College Café per month Middle School: 2 College Cafés per semester Elementary School: 1 College Café per semester College Campus Visits: To increase a college going culture, certain grade levels will be targeted to travel to various college campuses High school campuses will have the opportunity to take their juniors on college campus trips paid for from the I2020 Budget The CCR Coordinator will help any campus organize college trips, but campuses are responsible for funding these trips Parent, Student, and Faculty/Staff College Presentations: To close the knowledge gap surrounding college, all campuses will have the opportunity for the CCR Coordinator to speak to parents, students, and faculty/staff about various topics pertaining to college readiness High School and Middle School: 1 parent presentation per semester Elementary School: 3 parent presentations per year All student and faculty/staff presentations will be by request Career Day Support: In order to provide a robust and varied selection of speakers, the CCR Coordinator will assist in procuring Career Day Speakers All campuses will receive support as they create their Career Days The CCR coordinator will support in finding speakers for the event, but the campus is responsible for all logistics surrounding the event Perot Museum: In an effort to provide TEK-aligned curriculum support, each school will have the opportunity to participate in a field trip to the Perot Museum as well as outreach services to augment their science education programs. The following is paid for by Imagine 2020: All 5th and 8th grade students to attend the Perot Museum as part of a field trip Each high school to select 1 group or grade level to attend the Perot Museum as part of a field trip Any remaining funding will be split between all campuses based on enrollment numbers and campuses may choose the services they would like to receive
