Tom talked about the historical society presentation that Shanna has worked very hard to put together. The open house is 2/20/2014. Gus will be on the Radio soon. Financial Report Financial report reviewed. Monthly Business: Financial report for the month Tom discussed the financial report and the expenses to come. Tom discussed grant opportunities. Long-term grants are more secure. Grant opportunities are coming. Motioned to approve by Colin Hemphill and seconded by Gus Wahner. Approved. Operations: Personal policy placed in books for review. Minutes from last month motioned to approve by Tom Straughan, seconded by Colin Hemphill, approved. Andrea Mann (NRCS) gave a report: Over 100 farm stewardship applications received. There may be delays due to the new farm bill. Discussed deadlines and that delay may push that deadline back. Talked about planting cover crops need to be started and the of funding and soil health program. Have had signups for irrigation and soil health. Tom Demianew discussed the new CSP and farms. A researcher is willing to set up the studies and publish from farms in our area Director’s reports: Tom Demianew talked about how to reach more people. Workshops will be held on the 4, 11th and the 18th of March. Shanna is shopping for a Camera to make some short little movie clips. There is a grant for the purchase of this. We have two Soil health workshops coming up before the end of April. LaGrande and Pendleton dates have set with workshops with Hubert. Dates to be confirmed.
