Weekly Goals:
1. Increase the amount of praises given during a week by making a point of giving at least one praise to a
student for each day of the week.
2. Because my unit will be over on Monday, I want to continue to be play a major role in the instructional
process. I want to continue to take the lead in giving pre-lab instructions and lectures over material in the class.
3. I want to become more involved in the school community by attending the high school’s spring play this
coming weekend.
4. I want to build on my success with grading and turning in papers by having all of the tests graded and
imputed into the computer grading system by the end of the test day. I also want to have the projects students
turn in graded by the next class period.
Weekly Reflections:
1. One of my goals for the week was to continue to work on praising students for any answer they give. I was
able to continue to work on this goal quite a bit during the last portion of my L.A.M.P. project. During several of
the lessons I gave, I would try to say good job or exclaim, “Yes” to any student who provided a correct answer.
Even if a student did not provide the correct answer, I would try to give some sort of praise when I remembered
to work on this goal. Some days I gave very few praises; however, I was able to praise students for responding
to questions during most of the days this week.
2. One of the goals I have made for myself this past week was to work on my voice while I am teaching. As a
result of being in front of the classroom more, I am becoming more comfortable being in charge of a class. In
my opinion, having confidence in my skills and abilities as an educator is helping me to be more confident when
teaching a lesson, which has resulted in a lessening of stuttering and pacing issues when teaching.
3. My third goal for this past week was to continue working on using classroom management techniques to
redirect and refocus the students’ attention. During my L.A.M.P. project, I have been able to use a variety of
classroom management techniques to try to get students to pay attention. One student has been disruptive
during the duration of my L.A.M.P. project. I have recently tried several management techniques to try and get
this student to pay attention. I have tried moving the student, standing near him during work periods, and other
management techniques. I need to keep up these types of techniques to help students do the best that they
can. I also used a variety of demonstrations to try and engage
4. My final goal of the week was to get all of the papers graded by the beginning of the next school day. I have
been successful in getting all of the assignments graded by the beginning of the next school day. I have also
been able to pass back all of the graded assignments for students to be able to use to study for the upcoming
exam.
