Telling Your Story Acts 4:20 (NLT) We are Kenneth and Delight Hopson, missionaries to Uganda, East Africa. We are so blessed and count it a privilege to be used in Uganda to further Christ’s Kingdom in our everyday lives, doing our everyday things. So many times God calls people to serve Him as doctors, pilots, teachers, pastors and church planters, but God also uses ordinary people doing ordinary things. Delight serves in many capacities. She finds joy in welcoming guests into her home. She loves entertaining visitors, friends of our teen children, neighbors and complete strangers. The number of guests that have had a meal in our home is too numerous to count and she enjoys it all! For the last two years she has also been volunteering as the Librarian at Heritage International School. What a joy it has been to be able to encourage kids to read a number of different books, but the biggest blessing is when a child coming from a non-Christian background decides he wants to chose a children’s Bible story book to take home for the week. Delight likes to silently pray for the kids as they are checking these types of books out. Her prayer is that Jesus’ truths spoken in that particular book will permeate through the family. As the Bible says in Isaiah 11:6, “…a child shall lead them…” and what a special thrill it is to be a small part in sharing that sweet message with young hearts. Kenneth serves Jesus in many capacities also, but his deep joy comes from printing materials that will ultimately direct lost people to Jesus. Kenneth began The Print Shop in 2005 in its beginning stages and since then has printed so many pieces of literature in the form of books, Bible studies, membership manuals and pastoral training guides; along with primers in a variety of languages for many tribes in Uganda as well as the surrounding countries and even much more. God has been using Kenneth and this ministry for His Kingdom building. He stands in awe at how much Jesus has blessed this ministry. It is often said and in a teasing way that Kenneth is running a one-man show in the shop, but in reality there are two. Jesus is the one who gets those machines rolling and the millions of sheets of paper to slide through the press and Kenneth is the laborer and receives the blessings and ultimately giving God the glory! So, you see, we are ordinary people that Jesus has chosen to use for His Kingdom work. Wow…He really does use ordinary people, doing everyday things and allowing Him to, He will do the same for you! Prayer: Dear Lord – How many times do you hear us say, “I can’t do that, Lord”? Teach us to open our hearts and minds to what you have in store for us. Show us the way, Lord. Show us how to meet people right where they are and tell them our story. Use us, Lord! Amen. ____________________ Delight Hopson is married to Kenneth Hopson and they live in Uganda with their three children – Kaleb, Austin, and Emilee. The Hopsons serve as endorsed CP missionaries.
