Most Dogs in a Costume Parade

Is your dog a Guinness World Record Dog? Could be! Join Talbot Humane as we attempt to
set a GWR for the Most Dogs in a Costume Parade at our annual Bark in the Park festival,
5K and dog show. It will be a blast! But we need you, your family and your friends to dress
your dogs up, bring them out and join the excitement!
What’s the current record? 337 dogs, set in San Diego, CA in July 2011
We can totally BEAT that!
Setting a Guinness World Record is no joke – they take it VERY seriously and have strict guidelines we
MUST FOLLOW for our attempt to be certified. If you want to help us set a GWR read the following
guidelines & be prepared to follow them.
1. Each dog must be confirmed as healthy be a qualified vet. (We will have vets on site.)
2. Each dog must be accompanied by a handler.
3. Each dog must be in a complete, fully recognizable costume consisting of at least 2 pieces, e.g.
dress and tiara.
4. The dogs must parade one by one with their handlers along a pre-measured distance.
5. If an animal cannot complete the entire length of the parade route, it must be deducted from the
total count.
6. The animals must have enough space between them to allow them to move around freely.
7. The following must all be recorded on a pre-printed sheet and submitted with the world record
claim: breed of dog, name, gender, age and name and telephone number of the handler. (All of
this information is required on the registration form.)
If you can do these things, you and your dog can help us set a Guinness World Record! Registration fee
is $25 per dog, and ALL proceeds help Talbot Humane care the unwanted, abused and neglected
