UNIT TO COURSE COMPARISON (UCC) FORM
HAIRSTYLIST
The Apprenticeship and Certification Board prescribes time and content specific curriculum
standards for technical training. To assist training providers in meeting industry approved
standards, this form is to be completed signed and submitted as part of the original
Accreditation Application Package or Re-Accreditation Package with supporting documentation
when there are changes to the approved standards. Training providers should be aware that
their submission of a complete package and supporting program documents will be reviewed by
Apprenticeship Manitoba. It is vital that the documents submitted as evidence are current,
accurate and represent the lesson plans, evaluation tools, teaching resources and student
assignments presently used in the classroom of the training provider.
It is the responsibility of the institution to ensure that they are fulfilling the content requirements
of each unit. Refer to Apprenticeship Manitoba website for detailed information at:
www.gov.mb.ca/wdis/apprenticeship/discover/mbtrades/index.html

 Submission of all Course Outlines.
 Supporting program document: a Lesson Plan, Evaluation Tool, Teaching Resource,

Submissions must include a balanced variety of supporting documentation to demonstrate
adequate scope of technical training.
Tip: We do not require duplicates of supporting program documents within a submission
package. If one of your Course Outlines is referenced more than once, place the one (1) copy in
the first reference. For every other unit that refers to that Course Outline, include a note to
indicate where the outline is located.
A Note on Objectives Taught in More Than One Course
Please note that some Apprenticeship objectives are taught in more than one course.
When an objective is taught in more than one course, the teacher should distribute the number
of hours throughout those courses, based on their professional judgement. For example,
Objective B1.1 (Discuss safety regulations and health standards.) is taught in 5 different
courses for a total of 6 hours. Teachers can distribute these 6 hours among the 5 courses. See
page 8 of this document.
Objectives highlighted in yellow are repeated in Grades 10, 11 and 12. When the objective is
listed in Grade 10, the expression at a beginner level has been added to the end. When the
objective is listed in Grade 11, the expression at an intermediate level has been added to the
end. When the objective is listed in Grade 12, the expression at an advanced level has been
added to the end.
Objectives highlighted in turquoise are repeated in Grades 11 and 12. When the objective is
listed in Grade 11, the expression at an intermediate level has been added to the end. When the
objective is listed in Grade 12, the expression at an advanced level has been added to the end.
It is the responsibility of the institution to demonstrate full coverage of the content requirements of each
