It’s Fiesta Time!! Dear Parents: It is time to celebrate our wonderful teachers! May 6-10th is Teacher Appreciation Week at Emerson School. We appreciate the work our great teachers do all year long, but we would like to recognize them in a special way next week. We need ALL PARENTS to help by assisting with one or more of the following activities: Monday 5/6: Thank you notes. Please encourage your child to write a short note or draw a picture expressing their appreciation to give to their teachers. Kicking off the week in this special, personal way will set the tone for the rest of Teacher Appreciation Week. Talk to your children about all the things the Emerson staff do to help them learn. Don’t forget to recognize the specials teachers and support staff who take care of our children all year! Tuesday 5/7: E-thank yous! Go to the Emerson Website (http://emerson.bsd100.org/) and click on the “Thank a Teacher” icon. Send your personal message to a teacher! That was easy!! Sit with your child and help them to type a message, too. These messages will be shared privately with teachers. Wednesday 5/8: Bring a flower to school! Pick a flower from your own garden or make a paper flower to bring to school. Each teacher will be given a special vase to hold the bouquet. Thursday 5/9 Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. Parents will provide a special Fiesta Luncheon for our hardworking teachers. If you are able to send in a dish, help with set-up, serve or clean up, please contact Shelley Titzer at 708-7032956 or titzers@yahoo.com Friday 5/11: Personal Wish Lists. Check out the wish lists on the back of this paper and send in a special treat for your child’s teachers. Any small gift means so much to them. If your teacher is not on the wish list page, they are too shy or busy to ask for anything and my detective skills were not effective! Be creative!
