This program of courses is designed to meet the entrance requirements for a School of Veterinary. Students may
apply in the fall of their junior year at Eastern. Students may transfer applicable credits earned at Auburn back to
Eastern enabling the student to earn a B.S. Degree from EKU.

STUDENTS NOT ACCEPTED AT A VETERINARY SCHOOL AFTER THEIR JUNIOR YEAR
These students may continue for a Bachelors Degree. Because of the courses in Pre-Vet Curriculum
most students continue in either Agriculture, Biology or Chemistry, although a degree in any major is
possible. In fact, many students do not get into vet school after their junior year and reapply a second and
sometimes third time.

Other Basic Sciences
Assist in the collection and analysis or research data for government, university and private
laboratories.
Marketing and distribution of Veterinary Medical supplies.
TIPS FOR SUCCESS IN THE PRE-VETERINARY PROGRAM




Attend all lectures and laboratories.
Dedicate yourself to getting good grades. Veterinary School is competitive. Good Grades will give you
a competitive edge. A GPA of over a 3.4 will give you a competitive edge.
Work with a Veterinarian. Their reference will be invaluable in assisting you in acceptance at
veterinary school.
Get involved in the Pre-Vet Club & other campus activities.
