which represents our core work on taking UNISON’s pay and anti-austerity

The disproportionate impact of cuts on women is a central theme of
UNISON’s campaigning work. The increasing use of food banks is included
in the national women’s committee’s work programme. Materials targeted at
young members have been produced by the national young members’ forum.

An important element of this motion was to end the discrimination that
impacts on women in the new flat rate pension. With this in mind a motion
“Removal of Gender Discrimination in Pension Provision” was carried at the
2013 UNISON National Retired Members’ Conference and this was selected
for submission to the 2014 National Delegate Conference by the Retired
Members’ organisation.
