Learning Goals: To compare 2D and 3D figures and sort them by their geometric properties. To describe relationships between 2D shapes, and between 2D shapes and 3D figures. Success Criteria: I can name different polygons (i.e., triangle, square, quadrilateral, rhombus, trapezoid, pentagon, hexagon, octagon, decagon). I can describe polygons (i.e., number of sides, parallel sides, sides of equal length). I can describe angles as bigger than, equal to or smaller than a right angle. I can use a venn diagram to sort 2D shapes using 2 different attributes (i.e., side lengths, parallel lines, number of sides, types of angles) I can know if shapes are congruent or not. I can make pictures using different figures. I can name solids (i.e., cube, prisms, pyramids). I can describe solids (i.e., number and shape of faces, number of edges, number of vertices). I can compare and sort prisms and pyramids by geometric properties (i.e., number and shape of faces, number of edges, number of vertices). I can construct rectangular prisms using a paper net or Polydrons and describe the number of faces, shape of faces, number of edges and number of vertices. I can make a structure using solids and name the solids that I used in my structure. venn diagram Polygons Triangle Square Octagon Parallelogram Rhombus Decagon Trapezoid Pentagon Rectangle Hexagon Heptagon
