GOALS FOR THE RED BARN PROGRAMS OFFICE Chairing the 2nd Annual Red Barn Summer Fest Concert Series Committee with Stuart Neff and directing these 4 concerts with the kind help of many persons including Julie Onnembo, Sharon Mudd, Susie Cucura, Kenny Quisenberry, Dave Shaw, Tim Moore, Frank Mianzo and officers and members of the RBAA. Chairing the 3rd 2010 Annual Red Barn Summer Fest Concert Series Committee and directing these concerts as well. Work with Dave Shaw and Dave Doukas to train more students to be technicians for the Summer Fest Concerts and other events as well. Continue to secure the Metro and ABC (Commonwealth of Kentucky) temporary beer and wine licenses for the Red Barn Summer Fest Concert Series and secure the Metro and ABC beer license for the 25th Annual Crawfish Boil (we have secured a temporary Metro and ABC beer license for 35 years from 1969 through 2004 which included selling beer at the Crawfish boils and secured temporary Metro and ABC beer and wine licenses in 2008 and 2009 for the 1st 2008 and 2nd 2009 Red Barn Summer Fest Concert Series; we served beer at the Crawfish Boils when we did not secure a temporary Metro and ABC licenses in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009). Utilize as necessary Phillip H. Myers as a consultant and resource person as we plan the 3rd Annual 2010 Red Barn Summer Fest Concert Series (Phil Myers, PP Zone Person for the SAC, Red Barn and Yum Center has played the banjo for 35 years and knows a great deal about bluegrass and country music). Direct fund raising efforts for our 5 endowments and 4 endowed programs which are: 1) The Harold Adams Memorial Scholarship Fund; 2) The Florence M. Stickler Endowment, the RBAA Endowment and the RBAA Gift Account; 3) The Torchbearer Endowment and the Torchbearer Gift Account; and 4) The George J. Howe Endowment and George J. Howe Student Leadership Gift Account. Direct fund raising efforts for the Thomas Jackson, Jr. Veterans Gift Account and the International Service Learning Gift Account. Work with Lisa Baunach in Advancement and Frank Mianzo on increasing the number of persons at UofL who contribute to our fund raising efforts through payroll deduction thorough the UofL Cares Campaign (in 2008, there were 22 persons and in 2009, there are 33 persons at UofL who contributed to our fund raising efforts through payroll deduction which is great). Work with Frank Mianzo and other interested parties to find appropriate use of the available funds ($4,372.55) in the George J. Howe Student Leadership Gift Account (funds should become available on July 1, 2010, from the George J. Howe Endowment established on October 31, 2008, with $10,000). Work with the RBAA and other interested parties to find appropriate use of the available funds ($2,236.29) in the RBAA Gift Account (funds should become available on July 1, 2010, from the RBAA Endowment established on October 31, 2008, with $25,000). Work with Laura Mercer, Tim Moore, Mike Mardis and Frank Mianzo on the 3nd Annual Student Affairs Student Leaders Homecoming Reunion on October 9, 2009, from 5 to 8pm at the Red Barn. Work with, Julie Onnembo, Laura Mercer and Frank Mianzo on the 11th Annual November mailing to persons who have contributed to fund raising efforts since 1985 and may do so again and also to include new perspective donors. Direct the 2010 Annual RBAA Summer mailing in May, 2010, to ask for contributions to the Florence M. Strickler Endowment, the RBAA Endowment, the George J. Howe Student Leadership Gift Account and the George J. Howe Endowment. Direct the celebration of “40 Year of Red Barn – 1969 – 2009) to include the RBAA Red Barn 40th Birthday Party on Friday, December 11, 2009, from 5 to at least 8p.m. at the Red Barn with the help of the RBAA, the SAB, the Student Activities staff, the Office of the VPSA and other interested parties. Support and help direct the 25th Annual SAB and Red Barn Crawfish Boil on Friday, April 16, 2010. Direct the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the RBAA (1985 – 2010) including the RBAA Red Barn 41st Birthday Party on Friday, December 10, 2010, from 5 to 8p.m. at least with the help of the RBAA, the SAB, the Student Activities Staff, the Office of the VPSA and other interested parties. Continue to direct the use of the Red Barn and Red Barn services day and night 7 days a week with the great help and support of RSOs, SAB, the RBAA and the Student Activities staff. Direct and advise with Kenny Quisenberry the RBAA including 11 RBAA meetings, the RBAA and Torchbearer Scholarship Committee, 6 RBAA Tailgate Parties at the Red Barn tailgate area, the RBAA Red Barn Birthday Party, the Kelly J. Higgins RBAA Day at the Races at Churchill Downs and the 15th Annual RBAA Golf Scramble. Work with Laura Mercer to utilize the UofL students who have been selected to be Torchbearer Ambassadors and to assure that they each receive a scholarship award at least in the amount of $100 from the Torchbearer Endowment or Program. Increase the recycling of aluminum cans at UofL and in the city of Louisville to benefit UofL students and other worthy causes. Increase the level of participation of interested persons both in terms of human and financial resources. Achieving this goal may contribute to an increase of our fundraising efforts and may contribute to an increase in the use of the Red Barn which could generate money for the Student Activities Department.
