FTE: 1.0 MAT LOA (April 16, 2015-April 14, 2016) (Subject to minimum notice of 2 weeks or one pay period, whichever is longer) Hours of Work: Union: Wage/ Salary: Hours 11.625 - Days/ Nights MNU As per applicable collective agreement Position Summary: Under the direction of the Clinical Team Manager, the Registered Nurse – Acute Care - Dialysis provides nursing care, which is consistent and supports the Mission, Vision and Values of the Interlake Eastern Regional Health Authority. The Registered Nurse – Acute Care - Dialysis is responsible for delivering patient care in a manner that reflects professional nursing practice and which complies with the Registered Nurses Act, Standards of Nursing Practice Code of Ethics and IERHA Policy. This includes responsibility for co-ordination of the health care team regime and assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of all nursing care provided. The nurse provides patient and family care across the continuum with due consideration for the nursing process. She/he works under the direction of the Clinical Team Manager and in accordance with the principles and practices of the Manitoba Renal Program and the IERHA Acute Care program. The nurse, as a member of the health care team, advocates, provides information, educates, and supports the patient and family. Qualifications: Active registration with The College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) and a member in good standing. Applicants must have successfully completed the Nephrology Nursing Education Program. In the absence of appropriately qualified applicant(s), the Employer reserves the right to cancel the posting or to consider an applicant who does not possess the required Nephrology Nursing Education Program. In this circumstance successful completion of the Nephrology Nursing Education Program within a stipulated time frame will be required. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Current certification in ACLS, TNCC (or ITLS) and PALS (or ENPC). Minimum two years recent acute care experience (medical/surgical), within the last four years and one year experience in the field of Renal nursing. Other combination of education and work experience may be considered. Excellent IV skills: including strong skills in venipuncture, intravenous medication administration, admixture, trouble-shooting, and pump operation.
