Program allows students to understand the role of the activity professional in long term
health care facilities. To provide an overview of the history, regulations, diagnostics
groups, assessment processes, activity programming, communications, advocacy, ethics,
service delivery, and volunteer management. Req: 18 yrs old, high school diploma or GED.
Aesthetic Laser Technicians utilize lasers in skin care facilities for hair removal. The may
also treat aesthetic conditions such as veins, age spots, Rosacea and more. They help
remove unwanted hair oversee client preparation, balance and collect procedure fees or
perform management duties for treatment facilities. Req: 18 yrs old, high school diploma
or GED.
CNAs work with nursing personnel to provide care and tend to the needs of people of all
ages. Working closely with nurses, CNAs provide hands-on-care for patients in hospitals
and residents of long-term care facilities as well as home care, hospice, rehabs and many
urgent care facilities like clinics and doctor’s offices. Req: complete application, 16 yrs old,
read, write and comprehend English, current CPR certification, pass a criminal background
check, current negative TB test or negative Chest x-ray.

Massage therapy is performed for a variety of reasons, including treating painful ailments,
decompressing tired and overworked muscles, reducing stress, rehabilitating sports

grammar and clarity. Medical transcriptionists usually use a headset to listen to dictated
recordings made by physicians and other healthcare professionals then transcribe those
recordings. Req: 18 yrs old, high school diploma or GED.
Topics will include radiation safety and protection for the patient, self and others, image
production and evaluation, radiographic equipment maintenance and operation, quality
control, darkroom, processing, and Texas Regulations for Control of Radiation. Individuals
employed as NCRT will be able to perform radiographic procedures under the supervision

Industrial Electrical Technician
(IET)
Employment in industrial and manufacturing settings designing and troubleshooting
motors and motor controls. With intensive, four-day-a-week classes at the ACC main
campus, students will gain the knowledge and skills needed to secure entry-level
employment as industrial electrical technicians in almost any industrial or manufacturing
setting. New sessions starting throughout the year.
The Welding Job Training Certificate takes students through Torch Cutting, Basic Shielded
Metal Arc Welding (S.M.A.W.), Intermediate S.M.A.W. and Advanced S.M.A.W. Closely
adhere to the quality standards set forth by the American Welding Society and the
American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Other individual classes are offered for
experienced welders. Req: 18 yrs old, high school diploma or GED, students must be able to
read and write English for safety reasons and exams.

Working under the direct supervision of a certified medical technician, PBT's collect blood
samples, from both skin punctures and from veins, and transport specimens to the
laboratory to ensure the stability of the sample. Req: complete application, 18 yrs old, high
school diploma or GED, pass a criminal background check, complete health form signed by
a doctor, current CPR certification, additional specific hospital requirements may vary.
Help make therapy sessions productive, under the direct supervision of a physical therapist
or physical therapist assistant. PTAs are responsible for keeping the treatment area clean
and organized and for preparing for each patient's therapy. Req: 18 yrs old, high school
diploma or GED.
Help veterinarians and veterinary techs care for animals. Need to enjoy working with
animals and owners. The job requires lifting and holding animals, some office skills, clinical
procedures, record keeping and more. The work setting may be in animal hospitals, clinics,

Registration is ongoing throughout the year for Continuing Education and Workforce Development. Register early to avoid class cancellations. ACC requires a minimum number of
students to enroll for a class to be held.

Go to Web ACCess Main Menu - https://webadvisor.alvincollege.edu/WebACCess/WebAdvisor
Select the Continuing Education button.
On the right side of the page click on Register and Pay for Continuing Education Classes.
Choose the Topic Code and Location in drop-down menus for the class which you are registering.
Select the class session for which you are registering by clicking on the white box in the select column. Click Submit at the bottom of the page.
On the Personal Identification page, fill out all of the fields that are indicated with a red star with the student’s information.
Important: When entering information on the Personal Identification screen, ALL the information must be the student’s. Using a parent/spouse’s Social Security Number in
place of a student’s will cause record damage with the college’s Registrar. Please note on the top of that screen the message regarding address and/or phone number
changes; if you are a returning student and your address/numbers/email have changed within the last 3 months you must contact our office in order for us to have updated
information. Just entering the new information on the Personal Identification screen will not over-ride the old information in our student database.

Payment Options
Payment must be made at the time of registration. Currently there are no payment plans for Continuing Education.
If registering in person, payment must be made immediately following registration at the cashier window located in the Enrollment Services Center in Building A.
You may also pay with a credit card online.

Veteran Funds – CDL, Welding and Dental Assisting are approved for Chapter 33, Chapter 30, Chapter 1606, Chapter 1607, Chapter 35 and Chapter 31 VA funds. Coming

Workforce Investment Act (WIA) - Currently our Welding and CNC/ Machinist program are eligible for the WIA scholarship for workforce training through Workforce
