present a quick lesson on
Homophones, Homonyms,
Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms, Word
Analogies, Prefixes, Suffixes, etc.

Writing Expansion Activities:
1. Achieve 3000 has an excellent writing
program. Writing assignments from
reading articles can be assigned by
the teacher and e-mailed to the
student. The article will automatically
present to the student at their
reading level. The student is
prompted to use the writing process
to write a paper and e-mail this to
their teacher. The teacher can then
make comments for student
corrections. Research shows through
this medium that completion of 40
articles per semester will realize a
year’s growth in reading.
