Nursing & Midwifery , Joanna Briggs Fellowship Scholarship 2014 The Research Centre for Nursing and Midwifery Practice on behalf of the Nursing and Midwifery Office, ACT Health is pleased to offer four (4) Joanna Briggs Institute Clinical Fellowship Scholarships (JBI CF) for 2014 (two in May and 2 in July) to support Level 2 Registered Nurses and Midwives wanting to undertake the JBI CF program at the University of Adelaide. The JBI CF program focuses on advanced education and training in practical approaches to identifying and using clinical evidence in healthcare and is designed to motivate clinically focused practitioners. This program takes an interdisciplinary, international approach to prepare clinicians skilled in promoting and supporting the adoption of evidence-based approaches in health care. Scholarship Offer: Successful applicants will be awarded $4,400 up front. This will cover the cost of JBI CF program registration airfares and accommodation in a share, ensuite, two bedroom, and twin share at the Royal Adelaide Hospital Residential Wing. Course Outline: Two (2) Intakes to be offered in 2014 (May and July) ) Stage 1 – Five (5) day intensive training residency at JBI in Adelaide followed by Twenty two (22) weeks in own work environment conducting a clinical audit project using the JBI Practical Application of Clinical Evidence System (PACES). During this phase scholarship recipients will receive mentorship, direction and assistance from the newly established ACT Health JBI Clinical Fellow network and the Research Centre for Nursing and Midwifery Practice (RCNMP) staff. Stage 2 –Five (5) days residency at JBI in Adelaide to finalise report for publication and develop ongoing future plans. Outcomes: At the conclusion of the course you will be able to: Become a Clinical Fellow of the Joanna Briggs Institute and a Member of the JBI Evidence Utilisation Network Present your clinical audit project in a Research and Practice Development Forum Submit a short report to RCNMP Compendium Submit an article to a refereed journal with the support and assistance of RCNMP staff Conduct ongoing clinical audits using PACES and develop clinical leadership skills Educate colleagues on clinical auditing processes
