Data Services Manager Research by Design is an expanding full service Market Research agency based in Birmingham City Centre. Our continued growth has led to us recruiting for an exciting new role to support our busy research teams. The roles primary function is to support our research function in the delivery of market research surveys, data and analysis. Being a new role, there is some scope for this position to be developed and crafted by the job holder as the business continues to grow. The role offers a variety of work with projects spanning both business and consumer audiences. Our work comprises on-going panel studies, ad-hoc projects, and tracking studies across a diverse and rapidly expanding client base. You will be responsible for managing projects from the initial stages of scripting and sampling, to providing tables/data after fieldwork. Keeping a finger on the pulse is critical. You will have a sound knowledge of the range of data collection and analysis tools available and keep your knowledge updated as new innovations become available. You would be encouraged to share this with the rest of the team and work with your colleagues to develop new market opportunities. The Role: Responsible for managing the internal Data Processing processes for a wide range of clients and survey types with varying degrees of complexity. For each project your role will include: Involvement in project design and setup Analysis, profiling, cleaning and selection of survey sample Survey scripting Testing and validation of surveys In field management, analysis and monitoring of data collection and results Data cleaning, verification, coding Data analysis and production of data tables and further analysis as required This new opportunity will play a pivotal role across the business, providing you with opportunity to manage the ‘data side’ of projects, utilise your creative and problem solving skills whilst ensuring all projects are delivered to the high standards the business expects. Essential: At least 3 years recent work experience in a Data Processing/Analysis Market Research role. Experienced and proficient user of SNAP survey software (or similar). Specific expertise in: Survey scripting for online, telephone and paper surveys Data cleaning, verification and coding Data analysis to include generation of tabular analysis, including statistical analysis where desired Strong data processing skills: proven ability to manage, process, manipulate, analyse (and report) data in a variety of formats from a variety of sources. Experienced and proficient user of Excel. Specifically to include: Data analysis Macros and VBA coding A keen interest in, and knowledge of the software developments in the MR industry, and the ability to make relevant suggestions and recommendations based on this knowledge. Highly IT literate with the ability and willingness to learn quickly. Exceptional attention to detail and personal pride in all of your outputs. Outstanding organisational skills to manage varying types of quantitative projects with many overlapping timelines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proactive in identifying opportunities to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement ability. Desirable: Experience of running research panels (including management of surveys and panel data). Experience in undertaking advanced statistical data analysis using tools such as SPSS. Experience in one of (or more than one from) HTML (HTML5), JavaScript, XML, CSS, Flash. Interest and experience in selecting/ implementing IT hardware and software.
