Hands on Equations
Category: Mathematics
This class is a fun and easy way to learn beginning algebra for students in grades 3rd – 9th and
up. It is a visual, hands-on, whole brain approach. Many students fear the word “algebra”. This
program is unique. The benefits of using Hands On Equations are numerous: no algebraic prerequisites are required; it is a game-like approach that fascinates students. The gestures or
“legal moves” used to solve the equations reinforce the concepts at a deep kinesthetic level; the
program can be used as early as the 3rd grade. It also serves as an excellent component of a
middle-school pre-algebra program, great for the struggling high school student. Students attain
a high level of success with the program. The program provides students with a strong
foundation for later algebraic studies. Concepts and skills presented are essential for success in
an Algebra 1 class. Class Code: MT405

World History
Category: History/Geography
This well-researched text stands on the conviction that God is the Creator of the world and the
Controller of history. The text builds a solid foundation of ancient history, tracing man’s history
back to the Garden of Eden. It gives a fine presentation of neglected Asian and African cultures
in a unique ancient-to-modern style, helping the students to recognize other peoples and
cultures. An in-depth study of the Greco-Roman culture lays the groundwork for an exciting
section on medieval history. The last section brings the student to the very doorstep of current
history and vividly depicts world events in light of God’s master plan. Since man’s actions are a
product of his thoughts, the history of ideas is emphasized, rather than only political events and
economic conditions. Students are given a Christian perspective on language, chronology,
“prehistoric times,” art, music, revolutionism, evolutionism, socialism, Communism, humanism,
liberalism, and much more. Colorful maps, time lines, illustrations, and photographs help to
make the study of history both interesting and rewarding. Class Code: HS612

Christian Discipleship/Life Skills
Category: Bible/Apologetics
The most critical factor in leading the successful Christian life is in learning how to walk closely
with God and thus develop the character of Christ within. This course will teach the student how
to become a lifelong disciple of Christ. We will complete a discipleship program entitled “How to
Disciple Another to Love Jesus”. This program covers the basic Christian principles of
assurance of salvation, priorities of the Christian life, effective Bible study, prayer, importance of
Christian fellowship, how to evangelize, understanding God's will, and living life to make our
time count with the knowledge of Jesus' soon return. We will also study how to listen to God's
voice and how to discern His voice from all the noise that surrounds us and can mislead us. We
will learn how to use the Word of God as the ultimate authority in our daily lives. The goal of this
class is to equip young people to have a solid foundation for their faith, to develop a close
personal walk with God, and to be motivated to develop Christ-like character traits. 1 high

Missions/World View
Category: Bible/Apologetics
We will be exploring the foundation of missions and look into what people of other religions
believe. How do the world views of people from other cultures and philosophies affect the way
we as Christians should relate to them? How can we as Christians be prepared to give an
answer for the hope that is within us in the most effective way? Understanding world missions
today involves understanding other world views, other religions, and Christian apologetics. We
will study the lives of great Christian mission leaders and will have opportunities to interact with
people currently involved in world missions. George Thomas, the CBN world reporter, who has
traveled to dozens of countries in the most dangerous parts of the world, has agreed to be a
guest lecturer for the class. We will learn methods for personal evangelism and discipleship.

Introductory/Intermediate Logic
Category: Life Skills
Logic is the art of reasoning well—of learning to think God’s thoughts after Him. In this book,
directed toward junior-high students, Douglas Wilson and James Nance lay the proper
foundation of reasoning in the truth of God, and go on to train students in the crucial skills of
defining terms, recognizing basic types of statements, arguing with syllogisms, arguing in
ordinary language, and identifying informal fallacies. This text, together with Intermediate Logic
by James Nance, provides students with a rigorous course in logic that will help them excel in
every other subject they will study, from math and science to rhetoric and the humanities.
Extensively revised and updated, with additional review questions and exercises for each unit,
this book is an essential part of every Christian school or homeschool curriculum. 39 lessons;
