Go on line (YouTube) and learn how to use the Ti 30 SX calculator so you can teach someone.
Find five round objects of different sizes. For example, paper towel roll. Measure around the
outside of the roll using a piece of string. The string should be as thin as possible (sewing thread
would work well) then across the middle. Divide middle into the outside measurement. Do this
for all five objects. Make a chart showing your results.

6) At the playground, the new sandbox was 3 meters wide and 2 meters long. What is the area
of the sandbox?
7) Nancy bought some wrapping paper for Christmas that was 7 feet long and 8 feet wide.
What is the area of the wrapping paper she bought?
8) A window had a length of 8 feet and a width of 6 feet. What is the perimeter of the window?
9) A piece of plywood had a total area of 30 square feet, with a width of 3 feet. What is the
length of the wood?
10) A farm had an area of 35 sq. mi. The farm is 7 miles wide. How long is the farm?
