Priority will be given to residents that are most vulnerable and unable to acquire their own supplies. Volunteers involved in transporting or deploying flood protection equipment should use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Examples include: High-visibility clothing Water-proof gloves Wellies Wading poles Torches. People that receive resources from this store will be responsible for disposing of the equipment once it is no longer usable. Home-owners and businesses remain responsible for protecting their properties from flooding and are strongly encouraged to consider purchasing some form of flood protection if they believe their property is at risk. Households that rely upon sandbags to protect their property should purchase them in advance from local DIY stores, building merchants or online retailers. Request support from other volunteers as necessary. Ensure that accurate, factual information is available for those involved. 4. Arrange for the resilience store to be opened. 5. Remind volunteers to use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and beware of dangers associated with floodwater (e.g. hazards hidden underneath the surface, contamination). 6.
