(Number of awards and amounts varies; Freshman year, 1 st semester and
2 nd semester if recipient earns a 2.5 GPA for 1 st semester)
Peter Assimack graduated from Tarpon High in 1979. This scholarship helps perpetuate what Peter stood for-a willingness to help others, community service and concern for the community’s growth. This scholarship honors
Peter’s memory and is funded solely from contributions made by friends.
Criteria: Service to school and/or community; commitment to volunteering; minimum GPA 2.5 (in high school and first semester in college); financial need; must be attending a college in the State of Florida and if awarded this scholarship, recipient will be required to attend a “Thank you Sponsorship
Dinner” in May.
Attachment: One page essay (typed) describing your educational plans, financial needs and how this scholarship award will benefit you.
Special: Letters of recommendation are a plus but not required.

Criteria: Financial need; minimum GPA 2.7; extracurricular activities; recipient of the vocational award must be going into a vocational field; recipient of the academic awards have no restrictions on the colleges or areas of specialization. Can’t be related to an active Rotarian.
Special: Selected applicants will be interviewed. (Suggestion: Research the history and mission of Rotary.) On the application’s top line write
ROTARY-ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP, if you will attend a 4-year college or
ROTARY-VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP if you will attend school for 2 years and earn an associate’s degree, license or certification.
