2016 Mountain Castles Soil & Water Conservation
District Scholarship Application
Mountain Castles Soil and Water Conservation District is offering
three $1,000 scholarships -- one each to a graduating senior from
James River High School, Lord Botetourt High School, and Craig
County High School.
These scholarships will be awarded to students with a background
in agriculture, conservation, forestry or environmental sciences
and/or to a student pursuing an education in one of these fields or in
a related field of study.
Preference will be given to students attending Virginia universities
who have high academic standards and extracurricular activities in
areas related to agriculture and/or natural resource conservation.
Scholarship applications should be submitted to Mountain Castles
SWCD by March 11, 2016. The winning applicant will be
recognized at the spring academic awards ceremony at his or her
high school. A check will be issued to the selected college or
university on behalf of the student.
James River High School students will be competing for the Harold
P. “Bubby” Entsminger Honorary Scholarship. Lord Botetourt
High School students will compete for the John and Hallie Seibel
Scholarship. Students in Craig County will compete for the George
Todd Memorial Scholarship.
