“Enlightenment Philosopher Runs for President”
Instagram and Twitter Campaign
Directions:
1. Your group will be assigned an Enlightenment philosopher.
2. Your Enlightenment philosopher is running for president and
your group is responsible for the campaign.
3. Your campaign must include three Instagram pictures:
 Instagram Picture #1: Your philosopher’s main idea
about government. Please include a hash tag (#)
below the picture.
 Instagram Picture #2: How your philosopher’s idea
contributed to the Declaration of Independence or
Constitution. Please include a hash tag (#) below the
picture.
 Instagram Picture #3: An example of the
philosopher’s main idea affecting our lives today.
Please include a hash tag (#) below the picture.
4. Your campaign must also include three Twitter posts highlighting
your philosopher’s main ideas.
 Each Twitter post cannot exceed three sentences.
5. Your group will have two class periods to complete the above
assignment and prepare to present to the class.
6. The class will be taking notes during your presentation, which
means it is important that you speak clearly and present the
information in a manner we can understand. Each person in your
group must present a portion of your campaign.
7. See rubric attached for exact criteria and point values.
8. Campaign winner will receive extra credit on this assignment.
9. We will post each project on twitter and Instagram with your
“hashtags”. You will then vote on Edmodo for the president. Good
luck on your campaign.
