Understand historical and cultural aspects of extended nursing. 2. Describe benefits and potential risks of extended nursing for mother and infant. 3. Become familiar with breastfeeding during pregnancy and tandem breastfeeding an infant while still breastfeeding an older child. 4. Become familiar with some parenting theories in relationship to extended breastfeeding.
