Entry Fee: $30 by Friday, October 16. After October 16, the entry fee is $35.00. Deadline for entry is Friday,
October 30. Photogenic Fee is an additional $10.
AWARDS
Queens: Each receives a crown, trophy, sash and flowers.
Alternates: Each will receive a trophy and flowers.
Photogenic: Contestant should EMAIL a photo with her name, the word “photogenic,” & grade level clearly
printed in the subject line to Mrs. Adams at sadams@paulding.k12.ga.us. All pictures must be received
NO LATER THAN Oct 30. A photos should be in digital form. No printed photographs will be accepted.
Winner receives a plaque, sash & flowers. Photogenic participants must also be a registered contestant in one of
the pageant divisions.
People’s Choice winners will receive plaques, sashes & flowers. Contestants may put up posters & start
bringing in $1 votes the week of October 19. There will be 2 weeks of voting available at school. All votes at
school or during the pageant must be paid in cash. No checks are allowed for People’s choice votes.
Rehearsals: ALL OF THESE ARE REQUIRED REHEARSALS. Meet in Chorus Room
 Bring your shoes that you are wearing for the pageant to every rehearsal.
 Thursday, October 30: 3:30-5:30 pm EVERYONE at DMS
 Monday, November 2: 3:30-5:30 pm 6th & 7th Grade at DMS
 Tuesday, November 3: NO SCHOOL OR PRACTICE DUE TO VOTING DAY
 Wednesday, November 4: 3:30-5:30 pm 8th grade only at DMS
 Thursday, November 5: 4:15-8:00 pm– EVERYONE at Hiram HS Auditorium
 Friday, November 6: 6-8pm – Decorating at Hiram HS Auditorium
 Saturday, November 7: Pageant check-in from 3-5:30 pm. PAGEANT BEGINS AT 6:00 PM.
ALL CONTESTANTS MUST BE PRESENT BY 5:30PM!!
ANYONE SHOWING UP AFTER 5:30 PM WILL NOT BE ALLOWED BACKSTAGE
OR ON STAGE. THE CONTESTANT WILL NOT WALK NOR WILL SHE COMPETE IN THE
PAGEANT. THIS IS AN AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATION AND NO MONEY WILL BE REFUNDED.
BY SIGNING AND SUBMITTING THIS FORM THE CONTESTANT AND
HER PARENTS ARE AGREEING TO ABIDE BY THIS RULE.
Dress Code: Contestants must abide by the dress requirements and wear age appropriate dresses. You must
wear appropriate undergarments/bra with your dress. No one is allowed to compete braless and violators will
be disqualified and not allowed to walk. Please make sure that your dress is the right length for the shoe that
you are wearing so that it is safe for you to walk in it without having to hold up the dress. Stairs are a part of
the pageant walk. It may be necessary for you to have alterations made to your dress in order for you to wear
the dress comfortably, be safe when walking in heels, and so that you abide by the dress code. Contestants will
be provided escorts for getting up and down stairs. Please speak with Mrs. Adams if you have questions about
your dress.
PAGEANT DRESS CODE & OTHER RULES:
 Back of dress must be as high as the back bra line.
 Any slit in the skirt may not be higher than the 3 inches above the knee.
 Short party dresses may not be more than 3 inches above the knee
 Front neckline must not be lower than the middle of the breast line.
 No flesh should be shown at the midriff or the back through lacing of the dress, see through mesh, or 2
piece dresses.
 Contests must have appropriate undergarments under the dress. If you cannot wear some kind of bra
with it, it probably is not appropriate.
 Each judge will have to indicate on the judging form that the contestant meets or does not meet the dress
code. If at least one judge indicates that the dress does not meet dress code, the judges and sponsors will
discuss DQ of the contestant.
 “Hi-Low” dresses are allowed for the pageant as long as the shortest part of the dress meets the DMS
dress code, which is no more than 3” above the knee.
 Contestants may be disqualified for wearing dresses that do not meet the DMS pageant dress code.
Application fees will not be refunded.
 If you have a question about your dress, please bring it in and/or a picture of you in it, from the front
and back to Mrs. Adams for approval by the October 30 deadline.
 No food should be taken backstage. Please eat before you come to the pageant.
 No cell phones should be out backstage during the pageant. At 5:30 all contestants should put their cell
phone away or turn it into a staff member backstage who will hold it until the pageant is over.
 Contestants are sequestered backstage once they are dressed and the house is open. Do not break curtain
or go out into the audience area.
 WINNERS PICTURES: Pictures of the winners and alternates in all categories are taken
IMMEDIATELY following the pageant. Please do not go out into the audience or greet your family &
friends backstage until after this is completed. Doing so only delays how long it takes to do this.
Escorts and school staff will be blocking entrances to the backstage area from friends & family until
yearbook pictures are complete. Once you are finished and Mrs. Adams has approved you to leave, you
will then be allowed to go onstage or into the house to take pictures.
Photographer: A professional photographer will be available the day of the pageant. Pageant contestants may
have their pictures made before the pageant per appointment if they want individual pictures made. Picture
packages may be purchased at the time of your photo sitting. Winners will be photographed immediately after
the pageant. Candid photos will also be taken for the year book during the pageant.
On Stage Questions: Judging will include 1 on stage question for the finalists from each category. All
contestants will be given a list of 30 questions on Thursday, Oct 29 Pageant Meeting. Questions will be chosen
at random during the pageant and you will respond verbally. This will count as 25% of the final score.
Judging: Contestants are judged on overall appearance, poise, question responses and stage personality, each
counting as 25% of the total score. There is no performing talent or interview. Judges are selected by the
pageant director based on their pageant experience and expertise. Judges are most often former/current title
holders and/or pageant sponsors & judges from recognized pageants. The decision of the judges is final.
Results of individual scores will not be made available and are the property of Dobbins Middle School.
Sponsors: Contestants are encouraged to seek family, friends, clubs, church groups, local businesses, etc. as
their sponsors. Sponsors are asked to help provide the application and picture fees, as well as moral support and
encouragement.

PAGEANT RULES & REGULATIONS 2016 – PERMISSION FORM+
By signing this form, the contestant and the parent/guardian are agreeing that they have read and will abide by any
and all rules of the Miss Jaguar Pageants and/or Dobbins Middle School. This includes dress code, rehearsal times &
requirements, backstage rules, and any other as stated on the application and information sheets. The contestant and
parent are aware that the pageant begins at 6:00 pm, and that the contestant must arrive by 5:30 pm. The parent and
the contestant are agreeing that the decisions of the pageant sponsors and the judging panel are final. Score sheets &
judges feedback are not available to anyone following the pageant.

PRESS RELEASE FORM
We will be submitting pictures of the winners and alternates from the Miss Jaguar Pageants to three local papers: The
Dallas New Era, the Paulding Sentinel, and the Paulding Neighbor. Pictures will also be included in the yearbook.
Should your child win or place, parental permission is required to publish the pictures. If you are declining permission
for the pictures to be published, please fill out accordingly.
