Analytica Advisors Launches 2012 Canadian Clean Technology Industry Survey – Measuring Progress Toward 20 by 2020 – Ottawa, ON – May 23, 2012: Analytica Advisors is pleased to be holding information sessions in Greater Vancouver and Calgary for the Western Canadian launch of the 2012 Canadian Clean Technology Industry Survey. The Survey is a vital element in the process of measuring industry achievements in terms of investment, employment, exports and R&D. The 2010 SDTC Cleantech Growth & Go-To-Market Report was the first national industry study outlining a proposal to set a course to establish 20 Canadian clean technology companies that will have achieved $100 million in annual revenue by 2020. The 2011 Canadian Clean Technology Report further established industry achievement, and the upcoming 2013 Canadian Clean Technology Report will measure the industry’s progress toward the “20 by 2020” goal. Primary research from the 2012 Survey is the most important component of the 2013 Canadian Clean Technology Industry Report. Various cleantech stakeholders will be in attendance at these sessions, including representatives from industry, associations and all three levels of government. The first of these events, hosted by Tantalus Systems Corporation, will take place from 7:30am to 8:45am on Tuesday, May 29th at 301-3480 Gilmore Way, Burnaby BC. The second session, hosted by GreenTech Exchange, will be held later that same day (May 29th) from 4:15pm to 5:45pm at the Simon Fraser University Harbour Centre Building, Room 1400, 515 West Hastings Street, Vancouver BC. The third session, a breakfast event, will take place on Thursday, May 31st, from 7:30am to 8:45am at 55 Skyline Way NE, Calgary Alberta. It will be hosted by dTechs Electrical Profile Management. Findings from the previous 2011 Canadian Clean Technology Industry Report established key industry benchmarks for revenue, growth, sector employment R&D investments and priority export markets. Direct impact of that research included acknowledgement in the 2012 Federal Budget of the clean technology industry as a key sector of the Canadian economy, along with automotive, aerospace and forestry. The 2012 Survey, which will include input from over 700 Canadian clean technology companies, will provide important and unique measurement and analysis of the progress of an industry that in 2010 employed 44,000 people, had revenues of $9 billion (including $5 billion in exports) and invested $985 million in R&D.
