ECOSYSTEM ECOLOGY ASSISTANT PROFESSOR UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS BOSTON The Department of Biology at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applicants for a fulltime tenure track Assistant Professor in ecosystem ecology or a closely related field starting in September 2010. Applications will be particularly welcome from candidates who are working on some aspect of global change, landscape ecology, or conservation in marine, aquatic, coastal and/or terrestrial ecosystems. Possible areas include land use/land cover change, watersheds/wetlands, carbon sequestration, invasive species and community interactions. The successful applicant is expected to establish an externally funded research program and to be actively committed to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. There are excellent opportunities to collaborate and engage in multidisciplinary research with UMass Boston faculty. The University has a strong faculty and substantial research programs in environmental areas, and doctoral programs in Environmental Biology; Molecular, Cellular and Organismal Biology; and Environmental Sciences.
