DANAGENE microRNA Kit
This kit provides a rapid method for the isolation and
purification of total RNA from cultured animal cells,
tissue samples, blood, bacteria, yeast, fungi and plants.
The kit purifies all size of RNA, from large mRNA
and ribosomal RNA down to microRNA (miRNA)
and small interfering RNA (siRNA).
Most commercial RNA purification kits do not recover
RNA molecules smaller than < 200 nucleotides, using
an approach consisting of two sequential filtrations
with different ethanol concentrations, an RNA
fraction highly enriched in RNA species < 200
nucleotides can be obtained with of REALTOTAL
microRNA Kit.
In the past few years, interest in the identification,
detection, and use of small RNA molecules has rapidly
expanded.
Small regulatory RNA molecules play an important
role in regulation of gene expression in various
organisms by binding to the target mRNAs through
sequence complementation.
siRNAs are 21-23 nucleotide double-stranded RNA
molecules involved in post-transcriptional gene
silencing using the RNAi pathway. miRNA are 21-22
nucleotide double –stranded RNA molecules that play
important roles in the regulation of translation and
degradation of targets mRNAs through base pairing to
partially complementary sites in the unstranslated
regions of the message.

DANAGENE microRNA Kit was used to separate
HeLa cell small RNA from the large RNA species.
Samples were run on a formaldehyde-agarose gel
to visualize the larger RNA species that are
being removed.
