April and Kelsey grew up in a singing family and provides amazing chemistry on and off stage. Originally from Los Angeles, April desired to take her talent to the stages of the Rose City. Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, Etta James as well as current artists such as Adele influence April. She was deeply involved with the music world in Los Angeles, recording and singing with top names at The Whiskey and The Roxie. Now get ready for her vocal power in PDX. Sister Mercy band members have deep roots in the Oregon regional music area. Roger Espinor and Ron Camacho played for five years with the original award-winning Rose City Kings. He produced three CD’s with this high-energy blues band and brings that creative, driving rhythms to Sister Mercy’s first album HEAD OVER HEELS. Ron joins Sister Mercy as one of the top bass players in the region with his strongest influence of Jaco Pastorius and Eric Clapton. Steve Savoie brings strong R & B experience on his slide guitar and licks like Muddy Waters to the stage. Keyboardist Debby Espinor rounds out the band. Ray Charles, Dr. John and Nina Simone as well as Portland local David Vest have influenced her personal style. If you want a show worthy of a large stage, consider SISTER MERCY. Songs like “The Way,” “Holding On To Love” and “Heavy Load” were nothing short of amazing, the latter of which highlighted Savoie’s outstanding slide work.
