Subject: ISE Advisory Board Don Taylor Senior Leadership Award
This year the Industrial and Systems Engineering Advisory Board will present the Don Taylor
Leadership Award to a senior whose activities and accomplishments demonstrate excellence in leadership. A panel of ISE faculty will select 3 to 5 finalists for the award, and the ISE Advisory
Board, Leadership and Recognition Committee will select the winner of this award from the applications received. This year’s honoree will be named at the ISE Senior Symposium later this semester.
If you would like to be considered for this award, the requirements are as follows:
1.
Complete the attached application.
2.
Attach a current copy of your resume.
3.
Write a one page essay describing your understanding of what leadership is, how your activities and accomplishments demonstrate leadership skills and excellence in leadership effectiveness, and what valuable lessons you have learned about leadership. The essay should include a discussion of your participation in organizations and service projects, in addition to other relevant experience; such as work and academic experiences that required your leadership. The essay should discuss the context of the situation and what leadership skills you applied to the situation.
In addition, you must be enrolled in Senior Design during this academic year to be eligible. Please provide a hard copy and an electronic version of the completed application, resume, and essay to
