Describing trends
1. To describe changing circumstances we can use verbs
of movement. They are : improve , increase , recover ,
rise.
- decline , decrease , drop , fall.
2. A dramatic movement may be expressed by : rocket
and sore.
- dive and plummet.
3. A slight movement can be indicated by :
edge up
edge down and dip.
4. The amount of increase can also be indicated using
these verbs :
halve
double
triple
quadruple
increase tenfold.
Or with preposition : by, from and to.
