Project Coordinator, stakeholder and public consultation and
engagement
About Dialogue by Design:
Dialogue by Design (www.dialoguebydesign.co.uk ) is a specialist consultancy working at the
leading edge of consultation and engagement. We provide strategic and practical support to our
clients to help them engage effectively with stakeholders and/or members of the public, using a
range of approaches, including online and face-to-face.
Much of our work concerns environmental, energy and planning issues but we also work across a
range of other areas, including science, health and corporate social responsibility. We are
committed to providing independent, democratic and open channels for public and stakeholder
participation, at a local and national level.
We work in both the public and private sectors. Over the past few years our clients have included,
Defra, HS2 Ltd, EDF Energy, The Academy of Medical Sciences, the Department for Business
Innovation and Skills, National Grid and the Department for Transport, local authorities and the
European Commission.

Project Coordinator
We are looking for a full-time Project Coordinator to join our team. This role involves supporting
Project Managers on complex or sensitive projects.
The following description of the role is intended as a general guide. It may be reviewed
according to future requirements and business needs.
Project delivery
Working closely with project managers and senior project managers to support the effective
delivery of consultation and engagement processes:

Online and paper-based consultations:



Supporting the setup and running of user friendly and accessible online consultations
(based on web and database tools developed by Dialogue by Design over the past 14
years), including:
o
Processing and scanning consultation responses by post/email
o
Undertaking and overseeing data entry, as required
o
Maintaining clear and accurate computer and paper records
o
Dealing with enquiries from the public and stakeholders
o
Assisting in consultation website setup (e.g. updating html text)
Supporting analysis and reporting on large amounts of qualitative data submitted during
consultation and engagement processes
Face-to-face projects:


Supporting the administration of meetings and events
Overseeing the preparation of the transcript reports

Occasionally helping in support facilitation small groups and/or note taking (training will be
provided)
General activity

Supporting project managers and senior project managers on a number of projects and
proposals. This will include:

Working closely with other team members, including other project coordinators, colleagues
at our parent company, OPM and temporary staff



Providing efficient and high quality coordination and administration of projects/proposals
Assisting colleagues with delivery of proposals to ensure they fit the tenders specifications
Helping with more general business development activities: marketing, research, blogging,
case studies etc
Non-project related work


Terms and Conditions
Salary range: £20,000-£22,000.
A full copy of the terms and conditions of employment at Dialogue by Design is distributed upon
appointment.
Location
Our office is located at 252B Gray’s Inn Road, WC1X 8XG (near King’s Cross and St Pancras
stations).
Selection Process
You will need to complete an application form and return it to recruit@opm.co.uk. Interviews are
likely to take place during the following week. Please note that a CV will not be accepted.
If your application is taken forward, you will be invited to attend an interview and to complete some
assessment tasks.
If you are successful in your application, we will conduct verbal and/or written reference checks
with your approval. We will need to see your original birth certificate and/or passport as well as
your educational certificates. We will also request your completion of an occupational health
questionnaire. When the enquiries are completed satisfactorily, Dialogue by Design will make a
formal offer of appointment.
Skills testing of disabled applicants
Applicants who satisfy the minimum standards of the role may be asked to take a number of ability
tests before being progressed to the next stage of the recruitment process. These include online
numerical and verbal reasoning assessments supplied by a psychometric test provider. If an ability
test has a feature that, in the opinion of the applicant, places a disabled person at a substantial
disadvantage to other candidates, the OPM Group agrees to take such steps as is reasonable to
mitigate the disadvantage.
Should an applicant be able to demonstrate their ability for the role as laid out in the job description
(able to meet the minimum standards of the role as outlined in the necessary column in the person
specification), by any alternative method, this will be given due consideration by the OPM Group.
