As President of the South Australian Indian Medical Association, I am encouraging you to seriously consider active participation in the organisational activities of the SAIMA by joining the Management Committee. The SAIMA Management Committee will have 12 members in total consisting of 5 (five) Core Committee Members and 7 (seven) Executive Committee Members. We are looking for personnel who are really interested in a positive contribution to the community and this is a perfect platform for achieving those objectives. This time around, the SAIMA Executive Committee members will be allocated specific tasks attached to their portfolio. We request that you nominate your name for the particular portfolio you are interested in. If we receive more than one nomination per position, we will opt for negotiation first, and if this is unsuccessful, it shall be put to a vote. Regardless of who is in the committee or not, we are here to support each other as one community and have one unified voice. Solely in-charge of co-ordinating the activities of the SAIMA website in liaison with Dr Ravi Jain from Green Tree Information Technology Services 2. Regular updates on the website and on the SAIMA Facebook page ( ocial media) with up-to-date events, photos, news 3. Send out a newsletter every 3 months to members of the SAIMA and have close ties with the print and visual media 4. Maintain a strong communication link with all the members and promote the spirit of goodwill and brotherhood 2 Sports and Cultural Secretary 1. Solely in-charge of organising the annual cricket match between SAIMA and the PMASA 2. In-charge of organising the proposed ‘ SAIMA CULTURAL NIGHT’ exclusively for SAIMA members 3. Ability to work in tandem with other socio-cultural organisations (eg: IAASA) to identify and harness talent 4. Identify potential performers for our annual gala dinner and willingness to take active participation in the organisation of the GALA dinner Human Resources Secretary 1. Take ownership of the SAIMA membership database and encourage membership drives in different hospitals 2. Maintain the members details and periodically check the database 3. Work closely with Tracey DiBartolo SAIMA secretariat to maintain the database 4. Send reminders to those who haven’t renewed and be present at the CME meetings to check member details Finance & Business secretary 1. 2. 3. 4. Assist the treasurer in managing the finances of the organisation Liaise with sponsors for CME meetings Identify sponsors , both large scale and small scale for the organisation Assist the treasurer in managing the BUDGET for the Gala dinner Student Secretary 1. 2. 3. 4. Promote membership amongst students Arrange for active student participation in sports and cultural activities Assist the media & communications secretary in maintaining the Website Assist the Human resources secretary in maintaining the membership database and in attending CME meetings to check the accuracy of members details GP Liaison secretary 1. Promote membership amongst GP’s both in Adelaide and in the country 2. Identify prospective GP’s who could actively contribute to the community 3. Solely in-charge of organising the MOPS and attendance certificates for members attending the CME events 4. Ability to work in a team in close liaison with the media & communications secretary and provide updates on events happening in the world of general practice 3
