Day: 1 : 25th October 2013 (Time 09.00 A.M to 06.15 P.M.)
Registration started at 9.00 a.m. To 9.30 a.m. on 25th October 2013, at entrance of
Auditorium in Dr. D.Y. Patil Knowledge City. Inauguration function started at 9.30 a. m. at
Auditorium hall of Dr. D.Y. Patil Knowledge City. The function was anchored by Prof. Pallavi
Pasnur. The Chief Guest of the function was Dr. Sunil Kute(Chairman, Board of Studies, Civil
Engineering, UoP, Pune),President of Function was Dr. V L Shah(Structural Consultant),Shri
Anil Zahir (PRO of Dr D Y Patil Knowledge City) Prof Sandhya Mathapati (Program
Coordinator), Prof. Milind Drade (HOD civil) and Dr. Uttam Kalwane (Principal of Dr D Y Patil
School of Engineering & Technology) present on Stage. Inauguration started with Saraswati
Pujan, lightening of Samai by all dignitaries on stage. All dignitaries have been falicited. Key
Note Address by Dr. Sunil Kute, object of the Seminar is explained by Principal Dr. Uttam
Kalwane and Dr. V. L. Shah addressed the gathering. Inauguration Session ended at 10.45 am.
Tea break was conducted at 10.45 am to 11.00 am. The Vote of Thanks gives to the arrived guest
by Prof. Milind Darade.
Technical Seminar engaged by Mr. B. N. Divekar (Ferrocement Construction Consultant)
on “Use of Ferrocement and Ferrocrete Material to strengthening the building”. Lunch break was
conducted between 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm. After lunch break Session II was started. Session from
2.00 to 4.00 pm conducted by Mr. J. J. Shah (Expert Structural Audit, Mumbai)) on “New
Durable Construction without Leakage to delay repairs” and then Tea break was announced for
15 Minutes. Technical Session from 4.15 pm to 6.15 pm was conducted by Mr. Ravi Ranade
(NDT Consultants at Construction Diagnostic Centre, Pune) on “Various Techniques used in
NDT”. The Vote of Thanks gives to the arrived guest by Prof. Sandhya Mathapati.

Introduction of Dr. V.L.Shah :
Dr. V.L. Shah comes from a poor family. He lost his father at the age of 12 . He had only two
brothers of age 14 and a grand father and no uncle ,no aunty ,no sister and no body to help. He
studied by taking loan. He passed B.E.(Civil) 1956 , Pune University, M.E. ( Structures ) , 1st
class , Distinction , 1970 , Ph.D. I.I.T. Mumbai , 1979
Professional Experience
1) Public Health Dept. Baroda June 56 to Feb.57 Worked on design of sanitary Engg. Projects
2) Western Railways I.O.W ( Construction)Executed one of the major project of Narbada River
Training , at Braruch .
3) Design Asstt. , Divisional Office at Vadodata Obtained experience in design, drawing and
estimating of railway projects . till March 65
4) Design Asstt. Head Quarter Office ,W.Rly Churchgate, Mumbai.- Design Railway bridges till
Oct 65

Day: 2 : 26th October 2013 (Time 08.30 A.M to 03.00 P.M.)
Session III started on 26th October 2013 with Breakfast at 8.30am to 9.00am. Session
from 9.00am tom 11.00 am conducted by Dr. Pankaja Bagul(HOD, M.Arch, Sinhgad College,
Pune) on “Rehabilitation of Heritage Structures” the Tea break was announced for 15 Minutes.
Session from 11.15 am to 1.15 pm conducted by Dr. R. R. Joshi (Professor of Civil Engineering,
COEP)on “Rehabilitation of Structures related to Bridges”
The Valedictory Function was started at 2.00 pm in the presence of Chief Guest Dr Sunil
Thakare (Principal, ABMSP College of Engg, Pune) and as a Guest of Honor Dr Sachin Admane
(Principal, Imperial COER, Pune). Certificate Distributed to the participants by Dr. Pankaja
Bagul and Dr. R. R. Joshi. Vote of thanks and program concluded by Dr. Uttam Kalwane
(Principal of Dr D Y Patil School of Engineering & Technology).
