PERFIL PROFESIONAL
Esta es una guía selectiva bibliográfica para ayudar a los estudiantes de los
cursos de ATUL -0100 en la asignación titulada, perfil profesional de las disciplinas de
estudio: Ingeniería, Arquitectura, Arquitectura de Interiores, Administración de
Empresas y, Ciencias Geomáticas. El contenido de la guía es amplio, porque identifica
los recursos informativos de la Biblioteca de la UPPR y enlaces electrónicas de
Internet. Además, presenta información básica sobre las estrategias de búsqueda de
información. Para preguntas sobre los recursos puede preguntarle al Bibliotecario
escribiendo a referencistas@pupr.edu.
Uso de E-Library
Le permite identificar aquellos recursos informativos en las colecciones de la biblioteca
relacionados con el tema de su búsqueda. Library Catalog es el catálogo público en
línea que
identifica todos los libros, videos, revistas y otros formatos de las
colecciones. El acceso para trabajar con el catálogo puede ser en la Biblioteca y
remoto por Internet. Las estrategias para realizar las de búsqueda son por Autor, Título,
Tema o Clasificación.

Enciclopedias: Una estrategia inicial de búsqueda son las enciclopedias. Proporcionan
información documentada de datos históricos, conocimientos básicos y generales,
personas importantes y otros hechos e ideas al tema. Consulte siempre el índice
temático.
Manuales: Proveen información amplia y especializada sobre un tema. El contenido de
estas fuentes informativas es de alta relevancia para apoyar sus ideas. Muchos
manuales son "mini-enciclopedias" y proporcionan críticas y/o análisis.
Diccionarios: Fuentes rápidas y efectivas para la definición o la identificación de un
término o conceptos, de un movimiento, o de una persona en la historia. Recopilan y
explican de forma ordenada palabras de una o más lenguas, de una ciencia o materia
determinada. Hay diferentes tipos: generales y especializados.
