Groups 1 - 3: Strategic Objectives
Context
This round of work focuses on the Shift Paper developed in the previous
Summit and begins to articulate a vision for the future of physician
competence. Your group will focus on the Participant Agreement.
Objective
Translate the participant agreement into strategic objectives with
particular attention on how the Alliance can help specific organizations
meet their responsibilities to assure the public of ongoing physician
competence.
Time
You have approximately 60 minutes to complete your work.
Process
In your group, use the white wall to brainstorm and complete your work.
Exchange
After you have developed your position statement we will come back
together and hear a report out from each group (so be prepared to share
your work with the rest of the groups).

Context
This round of work focuses on the Shift Paper developed in the previous
Summit and begins to articulate a vision for the future of physician
competence. Your group will focus on two of the shifts and develop a
deeper understanding of the shifts taking place in physician competence
relative to these two shifts.

The objective of this round of work is to write a detailed description of
two of the shifts from the shift paper. Review the description of each shift
and add anything you feel may be missing in terms of an explanation
and a sense of why it’s important to patients and to the profession. Then

Groups 11 & 12: A Culture of Continuous Improvement
Context
This round of work focuses on the Shift Paper developed in the previous
Summit and begins to articulate a vision for the future of physician
competence. After Summit VI there were working groups. Several
people in one of those groups developed a model that represents a
system of continuous learning and improvement inspired by the Shift
Paper.
Objective
The objective of this round of work is to iterate the model.
Does this model reflect what the National Alliance means when we say
“a culture of continuous learning and improvement?”
Add to the model and the accompanying description so that it more
completely describes what we mean by a culture of continuous learning
and improvement and how it works. Then list and describe a few clear
ideas concerning what the Alliance could do to influence the shift.
