Dear Delegates, Here is this week's "newsflash": EFAD Honorary President Anne de Looy presented The Wimpfheimer - Guggenheim International Lecture: Global Dietetic Alliances – The European Experience at the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics annual Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo (FNCE) in Atlanta, Georgia on October 19th 2014. The lecture covered the work of EFAD and the two DIETS Thematic Networks and showcased the work that has been done over the past 10 years or so following the Roskilde Declaration. Also presenting over the three day conference was Daniel Buchholz (German Delegate to EFAD) and Tina Papoutsakis (Chair of EFAD Professional Practice Committee). The conference attracted about 10,000 dietitians from across the US and internationally and was an important opportunity to showcase what was being achieved in Europe in the profession. The time allowed Anne to network, for example at a breakfast meeting for the AND House of Delegates with the President of AND Sonja Connor and Patricia Babjak the Chief Executuve Officer of AND.
