This includes new products from their Roofing, Stone, and Trim divisions. These innovative building materials will be on display at the Boral booth, number C6136. Boral products are known for their beauty, durability and sustainability. New products include Monterey® Slate lightweight clay roof tile, which emulates the look of cedar shake with sub 600 pounds per square; in addition, our Class 4 Hail Resistant Roof Tile which has been awarded the highest hail performance certification recognized in the industry. Cultured Stone® manufactured stone veneer product line will introduce three new stone veneer colors and one new thin brick texture. Installation demonstrations of Versetta Stone® panelized stone siding are also planned for the IBS show floor, giving attendees and editors a first-hand look at how easy it is to install this product. Boral TruExterior® Trim is also introducing a new exterior product – Boral TruExterior® Beadboard. When installed and painted, the product looks like traditional wood beadboard but without all of the maintenance and upkeep. IBS is held annually and is the nation’s largest home building show. Designed to elevate the industry’s dialogue and explore new perspectives, IBS offers numerous opportunities to contribute to the advancement of the art and science of building. This makes it the perfect place to display the cutting edge technology of Boral’s new products, which now join other innovative products in the Boral family such as BoralPure® Smog Eating Tile, Boral TruExterior® Trim, and Boral Cultured Stone®. Boral Roofing Monterey® Slate 600 roof tile emulates the real authentic look of hand-split cedar shake with a distinguished surface texture reminiscent of the old-growth forestry of Monterey and Big Sur California. Crafted from clay, its colors are modeled after traditional heavy hand-split cedar shakes, and were developed to deliver a true rustic wood appearance while adding the long-lasting benefits of clay. Weighing less than 600 pounds per square, the product was specifically designed for the wood shake replacement market or those looking to replace asphalt roofs with a distinctive product. Truly lightweight and designed for reroofing, it weighs up to 40 percent less than a standard product. The Class 4 Hail Resistant Roof Tile is another product new to IBS. This weather and impact-resistant roofing Page 1 of 3 option is designed for high performance in hailstorms. Insurance savings may be offered to most homeowners who install Class 4 roofing materials due to its highest hail performance certification recognized in the industry. Boral Roofing’s Class 4 Hail Resistant Roof Tile product line has undergone severe impact-resistant testing in accordance with the FM 4473 standard. The roof tile is proven to withstand sequential 2-inch ice ball impacts at speeds up to 104 feet per second and is certified through the Roof Covering Impact Certification Program, sponsored by Architectural Testing. Boral Stone Products, manufacturers of Cultured Stone® branded products Introducing three new stone veneer colors and one new thin brick texture in its Cultured Stone® manufactured stone veneer product line at IBS 2013. Wolf Creek® Southern Ledgestone encompasses an assortment of buckskin, raisin, sienna brown, and cream, and truly feels as if it was gathered from the land. It will enhance many architectural styles including Craftsman, Prairie, and Ranch. Echo Ridge® Southern Ledgestone contains weathered edges in an array of platinum, steel, and bronzed greens reminiscent of the finest natural stone. It goes well with a variety of architectural styles including Craftsman, Prairie, and Ranch. Winterhaven® Pro-Fit Alpine Ledgestone offers clean, aesthetically pleasing whites found in many of nature’s elements, the basis for this crisp new colorway. The new thin brick texture – Handmade – resembles the look of brick created by the rugged hands of generations past. The array of imperfections within this texture create character and warmth to any wall. Boral Stone Products will also be conducting installation demonstrations of its Versetta Stone® panelized stone siding, a revolutionary product that is unlike any other building material currently in the market. Versetta Stone® panelized stone siding is a non-structural, cement-based manufactured veneer that provides the look of traditional masonry with a modern installation method. The molding and color application precisely replicates natural stone, including the subtle nuances found in nature. Versetta Stone® panelized stone siding can be used for remodeling or new construction in a variety of interior or exterior wall applications. Professionals will demonstrate just how easy the product is to install at the Boral booth, located at C6136. Boral TruExterior® Trim Boral TruExterior® Beadboard is another new product that Boral is launching at this year’s building show. This product has the same physical make-up and technology of the traditional Boral TruExterior® Trim, but offers a new profile. When installed and painted, the product looks like traditional wood beadboard, but without all of the maintenance and upkeep. In addition to the value proposition offered by the normal 1x and 5/4 trim profiles, this product is tongue and groove, which allows it to be installed with a fastener through the tongue, offering an aesthetic free from visible fasteners. This profile is ideal for soffit application which is an area of the house that faces extreme temperature changes. Wood products suffer in these conditions because they are constantly cycling moisture which causes them to swell and shrink. Boral TruExterior® Beadboard absorbs virtually no moisture, providing superior performance and durability. Boral TruExterior® Beadboard is reversible, offering the option for a “V-Groove” appearance in addition to the traditional “edge & center bead” profile, and maintains a high level of dimensional stability allowing it to be installed parallel to the house unlike many of the other manmade versions, which helps to reduce the effort required to install products in this application. In addition, it can span 24” without the need for additional backing or added support. The key attributes of low-maintenance, ease of installation, and dimensional stability help make this profile a great addition to the Boral TruExterior® Trim product line and is sure to be a hit with IBS attendees.
