Please do not submit a personal photograph as the scholarship is judged and awarded without regard to race, religion, sex, national origin and disability. The application should be submitted through the Colorado State Scholarship Chairman, Betty Jo Reeves. Scholarships are paid directly to the school of the student’s choice upon registration for the year of award. Applicants must be United States citizens and Colorado residents. You must attend an accredited college or university. All awards are judged based on academic excellence, commitment to field of study (as required), and financial need. All completed applications are due to the State Chairman by January 16, 2014 with awards presented at the annual State Conference. No person shall receive these awards more than once. Government, History, Political Science, Education*, Scholarship Honorary State Regent’s Scholarship In memory and honor of all honorary state regents who supported this scholarship. Winner must be a college/university Junior or Senior who is in the upper 1/5 of their class. Applicant must have a concentrated study in History, Government, Political Science, Education (proof of intent to teach history or government), while in a United States college or university. An impartial committee outside DAR judges the applications. The maximum award is $2,500.00 per year.
