T H E P H I L O S O P H Y M A J O R W O R K S H E E T (Requirements for students who entered the College prior to Fall 2015) Majors are required to take ten philosophy courses, consisting of the following requirements: • Logic requirement: PHIL 0180 • History requirement: a) PHIL 0201 or CLAS/ PHIL 0175 (Ancient) b) PHIL 250 (Early Modern) • Distribution requirement: a) one course in ESP: (ethics and social & political philosophy) b) one course in ELMMS: epistemology, language, metaphysics, mind and science • Seminar Requirement: two 0400-level seminars • Electives: three courses Notes: No more than one term of thesis work may count towards the ten required courses. We do not recommend taking two 400-level seminars at the same time.
