Standards Checklist
Name:_____________________
Advisor:_____________________
Below is a list of the skills you will learn during this course separated by chapter and Smarter Balanced
Test Claims. After each test check off the ones you have demonstrated with mastery. By keeping your
checker sheet up-to-date you will know which topics you have really learned and which need to be studied
further. *Information in the parentheses refers to the High School Advanced Knowledge and Skills for
Mathematics as released by the Oregon Department of Education.
Scoring Rubric: 4 = Exceeds Standards= Mastery = 100%
3 = Meets Standards = Proficient = 80%
2 = Nearly Meets Standards = Developing towards Standards = 60%
1 = Does Not Meet Standards = Little to no Evidence of Meeting Standards = 20%
inc = Incomplete Attempt or No Attempt Yet = 0%
Chapter 5: Analytic Trigonometry (T.1.3-1.4, T.3.1-3.3)
I can simplify, verify, and apply trigonometric identities. In addition, I can solve triangles using the law
of sines and cosines including those in context.
□Claim #1 – Concepts and Procedures: I can explain and apply mathematical concepts and interpret
and carry out mathematical procedures with precision and fluency
□ Claim #2– Problem Solving: I can solve a range of complex well-posed problems in pure and
applied mathematics, making productive use of knowledge and problem solving strategies.
□Claim #3 – Communicating Reasoning: I can clearly and precisely construct viable arguments to
support my own reasoning and to critique the reasoning of others.
□Claim #4 – Modeling and Data Analysis: I can analyze complex, real-world scenarios and can
construct and use mathematical models to interpret and solve problems.
Overall Test Score:_______
Chapter 8: Conic Sections (adv.A.3.6-3.8)
I can graph the conic sections and identify their various features including those from real-life situations.
In addition, I can write the equation of any conic section in standard form using the process of
completing the square.
Chapter 6: Vectors, Parametric Equations, & Polar Curves (adv.A.10.1-10.2, T.4.1-4.2, T.5.1-5.3)
I can perform operations on vectors and represent real-life situations using them. I can graph
rectangular, parametric, and polar equations and convert back and forth between these graphing systems.
