Pre-lab Reports, Lab Reports, and Exams
Excluding the Microscopy, Epidemiology, CD-ROM labs, exercises contain two assignments,
the PRE-REPORT and the LAB REPORT. The Pre-Report should be completed before the day
the exercise BEGINS. It will be collected AT THE BEGINNING of the lab period before the
pre-lab instruction. The purpose of the pre-report is to encourage students to read the lab before
coming to class. It will not be accepted late. The Final Lab Report should be completed and
turned in immediately after the lab is completed. Because lab work is “hands-on”, your presence
in class is necessary. Therefore, if you are absent, the pre-report and/or lab report due that day
will not be accepted. There are no make-up labs.
The laboratory portion of the course comprises 25% of the total BIOL 191 grade. However, a
grade of 70% or higher in the lab portion is required in order to pass the course. Failure to
achieve 70% or more in the lab portion will result in a grade of “F” for the entire course
regardless of the grade in the lecture portion.
Total possible points for the laboratory portion of the course
