Cooking holiday Umbrian Flavours: sample itinerary and
prices 2014
Day 1 This is your arrival day: check in to your apartment is at 4 pm. The evening is
free.
Day 2 You have the day to yourselves to do some sightseeing or just enjoy the
peaceful surroundings. An ideal day to make a trip to Perugia 4 km far from the
farm. You can of course stay in the farmhouse and relax at the pool. Dinner
reservations can be made at a restaurant of your choice
Day 3 Morning: Hands-on cooking class You will prepare a 4-course lunch that
you will eat at the end of the class, accompanied by local wines offered by your hosts.
Afternoon: The wine tour take place from 15.00 to 19.00. It is a wine tour in a winery
that produces Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCGS. You will have a guided tour of the
vineyard, cellars finishing up with a test of local Umbrian specialties and the wines.
You will also visit the medieval cities of of Bevagna and Montefalco. Professional
guide in the excursion.
Day 4 Morning: Hands-on cooking class. You will prepare a 4-course lunch that
you will eat at the end of the class, accompanied by wines offered by your hosts.
Afternoon: You have the afternoon to yourselves to do some sightseeing or just
enjoy the peaceful surroundings
Day 5 Morning: Hands-on cooking class. You will prepare a 4-course lunch that
you will eat at the end of the class, accompanied by wines offered by your hosts.
Afternoon: The excursion take place from 15.00 – 19.00. You will visit the mystical
city of Assisi, a beautiful medieval town based on Mount Subasio, overlooking a
peaceful Umbrian landscape. Assisi is known as the place of birth of St. Francis in
and that of Santa Chiara and has many beautiful churches.. You will visit the city, St.
Francis Church and its spectacular frescoes by Giotto, the Eremo delle Carceri (a
peacefully isolated church and monastery in the wooded slopes just outside Assisi’s
walls, the first monastic home of St. Francis’ and his followers) and the St. Damiano
church. This is a church and monastery outside the city walls where the crucifix spoke
to St. Francis, prompting him to repair it and begin his ministry. Later, St. Clare died
here. Your excursion will be lead by a professional guide
Day 6 Hands-on cooking class. You will prepare a 4-course lunch that you will eat
at the end of the class, accompanied by wines offered by your hosts.
Afternoon: The excursion take place from 15.00- 19.00. You will visit the town of
Orvieto. The city of Orvieto exists in symbiosis with the tuff cliff on which it stands,
an extraordinary example of the integration of nature by the work of man. The
Cathedral, dating back to 1263, is the most important architectural landmark of the
city, with its splendid Gothic facing and the richness of the ornaments and internal
chapels. In the ancient town we also find the St.Patrizio well, built in 1527.

Accommodation in the apartment of the farmhouse “la volpe e l’uva” in Perugia (40mq,
lounge with cooking area and double sofa bed double bedroom and bathroom), included bed
linen, towels, final cleaning. Extra heating on consumption.

7 breakfasts (in your apartment you will find coffee, milk, biscuits, jams, butter and sugar)

4 cooking classes of approximately 4 hours,

4 Four course meal from the cooking lesson;

Umbrian wines during meals, liquors for after dinner/lunch;

3 Tours as indicated in the itinerary
Group discount These trips are priced assuming up to six travelers. Special offers are available
for bigger group. If your group is composed by more than 6 people send meyour request and we
will send you the best price!
No cooking guests. It is also possible to bring along a non-participating partner who can spend
the morning enjoying the surroundings, and could then join the group at lunchtime.
Reservations are on request for any day, year round, based upon availability, for a minimum
of two people.
